Almost Magical Ways to cut gun violence and other hurtful acts

I doubt if I will convince many to agree with me (Gaia philosophy) in tending to believe that the Earth or earth-life connective is one organism, and we are all part of this good. So just say I found an almost magical way to cut gun violence and other behavior that many want to see changed.

When we pass laws. in the spirit of trying to stop good people from getting hurt, the compliance is much higher then when you dwell on trying to get bad people to comply. More and more people fasten their seat-belts including those with big tempers or drug induced desperation try to rob a bank. Trying to stop good people from getting lung cancer also cuts down on those with tempers getting lung cancer. Small punishments repeated, but not increased for repeat offenders, along with gross commercials showing tobacco or car accident harm cut tobacco deaths; no smoking areas for all, including the boss and police personnel.

Speed or methamphetamine is usually classified as something bad people do as with crack or heroin. But in Montana a lot of rich kids from powerful families began to get their lives and the lives of their families messed up with speed, so anti-speed commercials were created that have spread throughout the rest of the country,

Australia when it banned automatic weapons, unlike the US decided to take the guns back from good folk paying close to twice the original purchase price for their loss, drastically reducing automatic gun violence.

If one stops trying to take guns away from evil gun owners and instead think of ways to try to stop good folk from hurting sometimes inadvertently themselves and others one would notice that instead of a gun as part of the comprehensive security package those who mostly get in trouble see a gun as a means of instant security or feeling important, which is a rather dangerous attitude to have. Ads countering this attitude would cut down on gun death. Ads countering this feeling of instant worth or importance would cut down on gun deaths, even NRA officials might be talking in an ad warning that a gun isn’t a type of magic wand. The way I see it (unlike New Age that avoids unhappy thoughts) is that we are all corpuscles or other pieces of a good Gaia who only has wars between its cells to develop the ability to blast or push the asteroids away from creating so far more than a dozen near extinctions of earth life.

Ignore my religious, thought to be pseudo-science, mumblings if you like, but remember chasing after or trying to alter the good is more productive than trying to punish the bad into submission.

Vietnam, Woodstock, Iraq Protests, and now Decarcerate PA

The peace movement has grown old and gray, except for an on-again off-again Libertarian touch.

Several hundred people gathered in Love Party May 21, enthusiastically waited for the too many speakers to finish, and then began marching to the art museum, the first leg of the march toward a Noon June 3 rally in Harrisburg. They forgot a bus to follow along to pick up us old folk who have trouble keeping up. The march seems to really think people are going to march all the way instead of people taking turns marching while others are in a car. The only rides being offered are to those who want to come to the June 3 Harrisburg rally.

To Decarcerate, as the opposite of to Incarcerate, as in Decarcerate PA, and Decarcerate Illinois, is not the term used in most of the country for decreasing the number of people in prison, instead of closing many schools and public programs. A 1985 article I find very persuasive but again the article was only from Illinois,
http://www.prisonpolicy.org/scans/instead_of_prisons/chapter5.shtml

Some people think you should have a right not to wear a seat belt, motorcycle helmet or have a gun, I am not impressed. However prohibition empowered organized crime. Cell phones while driving is a real disaster. Walking while on the phone has caused some to fall as of late. But I don't think banning all cell phones is the answer, banning some people from using them is worse. No smoking areas work because the cops and boss can't smoke there as well. Think of the tension in an office if only the salaried employees were forbidden to smoke. If the US really wanted to get guns or certain guns off the street, besides seizing them, top dollar would be offered for illegal guns turned in, like Australia did with automatics.

In the spirit of making good people change their practices, seat belt laws were passed and with nagging pressure they are more and more often worn. In the spirit of stopping good people from getting cancer gruesome stop smoking commercials were made. In Wisconsin a lot of rich families were plagued with speed or methamphetamine, so grotesque anti-speed ads were made and has spread to elsewhere The AAA with the attitude of getting good people to stop getting liver disease can get results. Illegal immigrants and illegal gun owners probably wear seat belts as much as the rest of us. Stop trying to argue about who are the bad guys is the first step to to actually solving our problems.

When people are in jail the reported crime rate go down because robbing, muggings are rapes are off the books when they occur in prison.

Anyway the longer I continue the more I am talking for myself not the Decarcerate PA movement. The letters sent to the Philadelphia Inquirer just complain about Philadelphia Mayor Nutter's Three Strikes and You are Out Gun Control efforts,

Philadelphia is now in a feud with the state whether it can outlaw guns in the city parks. The state threatening hefty fines if it does. A perfect chance to consider an unlocked gun in the park being similar to an unlocked seat belt in a car. If someone has an unlocked gun in the park they pay a $10 fine or $100 if the fine is not payed in a week or a lengthy report promptly sent on each incident and their justifications. If a hoodlum thinks a witness might talk it would be easier to report it themselves and pay the fine than terrorize the witness to discourage them from talking.

To change the subject nothing else to lose is an important factor we somehow have to deal with. Tamerlan Tsarnaev who bombed the Boston Marathon is suspected of having killed 3 people in 2011, Adam Lanza was dangerous thin while playing Call of Duty day and night, he could of even been mad at his mother from distracting him with food. Whatever the reason he had nothing else to lose by continuing his rampage. On non-murders one week in jail vs a couple of years is more of a deterrent, than 20 years vs life without parole.

Success with no smoking areas were even the boss can't smoke intrigues me to try to use it to succeed elsewhere.

If the cops had fingerprint locking gun hostlers there would be far fewer incidents where it was claimed the suspect tried to grab the officer's gun, and the police would be more relaxed instead of looking over their shoulders worrying about who might try to steal the gunn. Any gun not carefully secured is an invalidation for a thief to try to steal. Just think if the laws on keeping guns locked up were were written right even a mugger would keep his gun in a locked duffel bag while robbing old ladies, rather than face far greater punishment hoping to get his gun quickly out of the duffel bag if the mugger faced an armed threat. Meanwhile no more elderly victims shot just because a car back fired near by.

Libertarians are still coming to the anti-drone rallies. But sadly when I went to the East Coast gun rally that morning by the Liberty Bell, the only one who welcomed me was a man who thinks the Second Amendment even gives citizens the right to own an atomic bomb if they wanted one.

The word “Reasonable” has been hijacked by extremists as in “Reasonable gun laws”

There are a lot of efforts to legislate social change, seat belt laws the most successful through small fines that don’t increase whether or not one is a first time offender or not.

In other areas gruesome ads rather than harsh punishment like someone losing or not getting a job because they smoke cigarettes or jailing adults who bought tobacco for a child has been the most effective in lowering lung cancer. In Wisconsin gruesome ads against speed or methamphetamine has been quite effective.

The first attempt as a reasonable gun law might be a $10 fine for carrying a gun in the city park, and $100 if the fine isn't payed by 10 days after the incident occurred. When it comes to rough characters who fear a witness snitching they would most likely surprise the authorities with an unrequested fine payment rather then invest a lot more than $10 worth of effort in trying to make sure the witness remained silent. Neighbors who complain about guns could still expect some retaliation, but far less danger of being terrorized. Philadelphia may face a law suite over banning public guns, a ten dollar law would be easier to win and less of a fine if the city lost in a lawsuit. There is a lot more but I might rune it by saying too much. No smoking areas are unique in that both the boss and the cops can't smoke there either. Perhaps all guns should be required to be kept locked up, if police officers had their guns in finger-locking holsters, there would be far less people dreaming of seizing an officer's gun and far less police shootings reported as the suspect tried to grab the officer's gun.

Prison overcrowding has finely started to come down, with less three strikes convictions, and less long term incarceration over marijuana, and less excitement against terrorism, since the nasty porn flick insulting Islam, Innocence of the Muslims alerted many into realizing that baiting trouble in the name of warning against it is going on.

Don't let gun laws refuel the prison-industrial-complex toward continuing to head this country in the direction of eventually most of people in America being in the prison probation system.

Instead of arguing whether guns are good or good in certain instances let's unite against throw away the key attempted solutions to our human problems.

This Saturday May 25 there will be two very large events in Philadelphia

There will be a rally for gun rights 11 am at the Liberty Bell and not far away at noon in Love Park a rally for Decarceration instead of endlessly new incarcerations marching to the Art Museum and the hearty on to Harrisburg, seeing these events as contradictory will make what promises to be a huge by recent standards human rights rally seem small. But seeing the two rallies as complimentary events will make the recent return to activism seem huge, and prevent many new unwilling recruits to the prison-industrial-complex pipeline end up not happening,

It’s Green time in Philly

It’s time to celebrate Green Philadelphia far more than just Earth Day. The Green Party in Philadelphia is most excited about an anti fracking demo at the Department for Environmental Protection in Norristown April 22, 2013 3 pm.

Let’s celebrate not only Philadelphia’s still fracking chemical free water, but our beautiful spots and park squares the best in the county street greenery. Not many cities outside of Europe are blessed with foot traffic and biking routes. We are blessed with SETA still the best public transit in the country despite 50 years of neglect. Philadelphia brags about its fine restaurants nurtured by old-fashioned street traffic, but the streets are bike friendly just like in Europe. It will be 60’ this Easter Sunday. Rittenhouse Square will be particularly crowded. One can walk over from Rittenhouse Square and browse the anti franking art show at Lutheran Church off 21th & Chestnut and across the street from the Unitarian Church art entrance on Samson Street. Closing party and lecture on April 4 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

On Apr 3 at 6:30pm there is also, not far away at the Friends Center a block from City Hall, "A Fierce Green Fire" from the Envision Peace Museum.

Not to shun technology, also at 15 and Cherry a block from City Hall will be putting technology to positive use, Amy Sample Ward on April 2 will discuss her co-authored book, Social Change Anytime Everywhere: How to implement online multichannel strategies to spark advocacy, raise money and engage your community.

We the people got to stop expecting rock stars like Reagan, Clinton and Obama to solve our problems for us. I believe Obama tried at first to be different, but after the 2006 midterm defeats his political speeches and many decisions were based on what would be music for the base to cheer. Try something different like voting for a Green candidate, and registering for a third party for a change.

Gun Violence, War, & War Video Simulations

There are two antiwar movements the Give peace a chance movement, and the Libertarian one. Whatever benefit is gained in infringing on the Second Amendment is lost from the way it lessens the antiwar clout.

It doesn’t take gun culture to get some of us to kill, Chimps do it and a few badly traumatized Bonobo monkey orphans, separated from their culture.

When it comes to humans there has been a dramatic hardly noticed shift since World War II. A particularly meticulous general, General Marshal, reported back that 80 percent of the soldiers never directly shot at an enemy face or body. They would carry ammunition, even risk death in a heroic mission to pull a wounded comrade out of direct fire but still not fire directly at a human being. Then came video training and civilian videos and now a perhaps 60% to 90 % increase (statistics are rough estimates) in increases in direct combat killings, and veteran suicides, and murders. Since in the old days people fell on a gun or more often than today officially accidentally shot a friend, good statistics are a problem,

For some reason if links dont paste I copied the core of the link for the reader to copy and paste,

greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/hope_on_the_battlefield

The change today,

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/shocking-suicide-toll-on-combat-veterans-1746475.html
.
independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/shocking-suicide-toll-on-combat-veterans-1746475.html.

I wonder if old-fashioned war nurses that never fired or trained with guns had much less suicides or those especially Seven Day Adventists drafted 1-A-0 not 1-A during Vietnam and before ended up with far less suicides. Back before Vietnam, I dreamed of becoming a heroic Male War Nurse with the Seven Day Adventist I AO draftees. Research on traumatized Seven Day Adventist non-combatants is needed when understanding how war training, war, suicides and murder relate

If one gets mad enough to kill blood unexpectedly splashing in one’s face would make one pause and reconsider for at least a moment. Less training is more effective than less firepower in slowing gun deaths. If President Obama actually succeeded in actually stopping people from using fast guns,  a frustrated James Holmes might have pre-set a fire and hid with a long gun, shooting people leaving the theater, like the Capitol Beltway sniper attacks and Mitchell Johnson and Andrew Golden who hid with a long gun in the woods attacking the school after setting getting the fire alarm to go off. More incidents with less reason for anger, not more and more firepower is the problem.

There has been a second diagrammatic shift that hasn’t been fully noticed. After the Batman movie rampage, bloggers reminded us that Batman and other comics were once thought to be decadent and teaching unwholesome values, Today due to blogs preventing belated comments it’s hard to point out that today that interacting with a computer screen day and night, nodding off in front of the screen the only diversion until collapsing from dehydration, or a blood clot getting in the way, supposedly has nothing to due with being taught bad values. Remember when Ancient Rome was considered decadent because of the feasts where people would keep eating use the vomitorium which was a was supposedly a separate room from the bathroom and eat some more. Actually servants cleaned up the slop surrounding the tables of large parties and drinking bashes. Today people have more fun than the ancient Romans while collapsing from dehydration or a blood clot. A few games like "Call-of-Duty" have breaks in the action when everyone but one is supposedly dead until a new session begins. This break in the action like the old TV addict intermissions for commercials enables participants time to freshen up during these breaks.

The far-right fringe killer who attacked at a Norwegian youth camp spent six months day and night playing Call-of-Duty before moving to the country to practice. He corresponded in a friendly way with like-minded gamers including Muslim gamers. The French al Qaeda admirer who attacked a Jewish Orthodox School, was a self-described Call-of-Duty addict as was his Muslim friends, maybe some of the same ones who would never listen to decadent western music. Though perhaps I hope Heroin Addiction is a different word then used for cocaine addiction in Arabic. If we aren’t  alarmed that little kids beg mommie to buy them that cool video game perhaps we can be alarmed  that Western haters admire our games.

Mark Bradford 46 kept being insulted by a little boys bragging insults after being repeatedly beaten in the game. He found the boy and broke into the childs home, (grown-man-hunts-strangles-boy-over-call-of-duty-game)

If it had been the boy’s male organs, that was squeezed, the the adult-only label would there after have been enforced.

Adam Lanza, the American who attacked a Connecticut elementary school, was becoming dangerously thin as he endlessly interacted with Call-of-Duty in his windowless basement bed and computer room, snarling at his mother whenever she brought some food down,

Something weird is going on, cell phone texting addicts sometimes discover that they sent a jumbled text message to a friend when they woke up in the morning, some discover later that they sent a jumbled message while driving. People sleepwalking to the bathroom at night had been reported long before technology addictions occurred. Sleepwalking can involve quite complicated tasks,

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleepwalking

Perhaps the reason some lately have collapsed from dehydration is that due to bottled water, drinking from the sink is no longer part of people’s routine when going to the bathroom at night.

For Adam Lanza, he must have quickly went on the the next game without eating first. Peter Wlasuk, a plumber who was frequently called to the mansion found two friendly kids who liked to quote gun facts until the older brother moved out. He found the windowless basement, with its gun and tank posters, and at first the two kids then one, when his brother moved out. Since most didn’t find Adam talkative I suspect Adam flushed paper towels down the toilet while sleepwalking, making the plumber a frequent enough guest to become a friend.

Just think if his mother Nancy Lanza had the foresight to include a Nutriment wafer, next to the water bottle in the  bathroom, Adam Lanza would still be down in his self-made prison cell and the kids at the elementary school very much alive preparing (if they were rich enough) their own cocoons to play video -games every moment for the rest of their lives. Perhaps an exercise bike with a timer recording miles pushed and Lanza’s mother getting snared at by Adam only when the pedals hadn’t been turned. Or perhaps the first five minutes of the latest Call-of-Duty updates to  include stationary bike exercise or a 10 minute break after everyone is dead before a new Call-of-Duty segment would started.

There was once a war against booze that drifted into a war against communism and commie tainted subversives that drifted into a war against drugs, a war against terror, now Obama is refilling the school-to-prison pipeline with a new generation of prisoners. Google school-to-prison pipeline with Advancement Project, ACLU and NAACP. Almost any human being would become a straw purchaser when cornered by a goon, especially if they partly first thought they would keep that gun to protect themselves against that goon.

Australia had positive success banning assault guns, but they had a very expensive buy back program paying top dollar for the guns already in Australia. In England however bans at first led to gun deaths going up and every slowing going down again as less and less guns were available, now with more gun games and more veterans gun deaths are going up again

Just think if the government would provide and would FedEx bottled water and Nutriment to gamers, also free heroin and cocaine to addicts and free booze to alcoholics on the condition that the would never be seen out of their homes, the US could change from being the most prison enclosed country in the world to one filled with self-imprisoned prisoners instead.

Mandating a minute break every 15 minutes of  video may stop some,i f not all of the gun rampages, especially if it could be enforced as well during Armed Forces basic training video exercises.

Every time there is a violent rampage a few blamed it on war and war games, and or violent video

One site against banning violent video like Call-of-Duty listed those Congressional Reps and organizations opposing violent video games. I think it could be very helpful in helping those of us who want sense-able video laws to find each other and get together. In the past when I posted a site for the purpose counter to what it wanted it disappeared so I saved it this time,

None Dare Call it Brainwashing

Think back 15 years or so if someone predicted that there would be people glued to an interactive video screen until they collapsed from dehydration or if less lucky from a blood clot.

A dozen years ago a formally timid, friendly easy-going lad Boyd Malvo was arrested as the junior partner of the Capitol Beltway sniper attacks. Brainwashing was the cry of the experts, but since then without counter-evidence, the experts now can’t predict or explain why.

Tyler Rigsby spent more than four days and nights before falling to the floor from dehydration (I guess eight days), other than games such stories were in the past of people trapped by earthquakes,

newsinfo.inquirer.net/inquirerheadlines/nation/view/20100122-248723/11-yr-old-girl-dug-out-alive-after-8-days-in-ruins

Not all computer addicts are losers, who had nothing else to live for, or with some future killers the only chance for real people to look up to them, was by playing computer games with those near or from afar. Chris Staniforth, (age 20) however was an achiever heading toward a high-paid job in computer design, already earning money as a participant in a computer game design test until dying of a blood clot got in the way.

Why can’t we go back to the days of TV addiction where people would move and freshen up during commercial breaks, even movies had intermissions where people were encouraged to buy popcorn? Public meeting, and even offices, had coffee breaks as well. If every 15 minutes there were breaks in the computer game for a public service announcement or something, at least we could have arrested Adam Lanza if he had removed them, instead of trying to find ways of putting people like him in a locked facility before they even made a threat to do anyone harm.

Remember when people avoided long distance calls due to the costs? Why can’t there at least be a tax on cell phone calls per minute while the car is in motion. It’s not crazy killers who as soon as society advances enough will put them in jail at the first sign that something is wrong, but a crazy world which lets technology run our lives. We don’t even pass a sugar tax to make up for the fact that people used to walk and run for work and recreation instead of just sitting, or put motion alarms in library chairs set to vibrate after 20 minuets of dead weight, or in classrooms where kids now work at their own pace instead of having recess together. See'High Tech Heretic by Cliff Stoll, (PS if you can’t click a link sometime I can google it, or try googling only the words in a link),

Twelve years ago after the sniper rampage the experts thought brainwashing was the problem now with the help of computers, not newspapers, helping us think about the world we no longer have any ideas as to why, except the President thinks that banning automatics will make them disappear without an expensive Australian type buy back program. Second Amendment advocates hallucinate that enough armed good guys without any gun free zones will solve the mass killings problems. More guns wouldn’t have helped against a sniper. The attacker of the Batman movie premier would have been disappointed if he had to hide with a long gun and pre-set a little burning to set of the fire alarm and hide and shoot at those leaving like two kids Mitchell Johnson and Andrew Golden did. The Batman Villain carnage would have been far greater than 13 dead, with a 'snail gun' attack, shooting a rifle from afar. The NRA campaign against gun-free zones is built on quicksand.

One game never led to any blood clots despite the endless hours addicts spent at it, 'Call of Duty', a fight to death video game It must lead to participants lunging in their chairs now and then like cheering sports fans. However, despite being blood clot resistant, Call of Duty is far more dangerous than other games, with the possible exception of armed forces and British battlefield training games that lead some vets to murder or suicide incidents sometimes years later. Off the subject, the government was shocked to discover that most during World War II did not actually shoot when they clearly saw a head in front of them on their gun sites. I wonder if the later suicides are of people who with old-fashioned training never would have seen a body explode after they pulled the trigger. Computer games is life-style training, not recreation.

Frustration that a kid neighbor kept beating him, on Call of Duty led, a 46-year-old father of three to go over to his 13-year-old neighbor's house to choke him in the throat. By the way, Call for Duty is coded for mature audiences. Please everyone that doesn't want future carnage click on the following link of little kids begging mommy to buy them that cool game,

Anders Breivik who attacked a Norwegian youth camp spent six months day and night playing Call of Duty before moving to the country to plan the attack. Adam Lanza who attacked an elementary school would angrily snap at his mother every time she brought a little food down to his Call of Duty marathon, in his windowless, bedroom and computer room and windowless bath room attached.

Why do all these Call of Duty addicts pick on children? Rebuttal at the following link,

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/technology/micwright/100008538/dont-blame-call-of-duty-for-the-newtown-shooting-virtual

I don’t think it is freedom of speech issues in the way of putting one minute breaks in the action every 15 minutes like on commercial TV. One minute break in the action would lessen the effectiveness of interactive basic training video, and cut down on people looking for a job as a US government killing specialist. Locally, in Philly I urge anti-gun violence groups, and third party folk, especially Green Party folk, to watch Call of Duty projected on a large screen, Libertarians won't attend unless a gun debate follows the video. Afterwords some can march to where there is an arms gun shop near by a government recruitment for jobs bearing arms and have a picket at both. Only one rampage succeeded as planned and that was in Norway where Anders Breivik had the means to travel the world looking for the guns he wanted. Let's celebrate how he was unable to make the changes in Norway he wanted. Extremists both anti-Muslim and Muslim alike thinks it gets them to make necessary changes they think the world needs, and so do some with no politics at all.
